Description

Instructions

Minitab workshop 11 kB Files for a Minitab workshop. Unzip this archive.    See Minitab text file for notes and instructions.
Matlab workshop 23 kB Files for a Matlab workshop.  See MATLABINTRO.M for an introduction to matrix arithmetic and manipulation.  See MATLABTOPICS.M for information on data types, MEX files and GUIs. Unzip this archive into a directory named C:\WORKSHOP.  Enter cd c:\workshop from the MATLAB command prompt.

HH Model

33 kB

Simulation of Hodgkin-Huxley model currents under whole-cell voltage clamp for demonstrating the process of creating a Hodgkin-Huxley model of a voltage-gated ion channel.  Requires MATLAB 6.5 or greater under Windows 2000 or XP.

Unzip this archive into a directory named C:\HHMODEL.  Enter cd c:\hhmodel and hhmodel from the MATLAB command prompt.

SC Model

40 kB

Simulation of single channel currents under tight-seal voltage clamp for demonstrating the process of creating a state-transition model of a voltage and/or ligand-gated ion channel.  Requires MATLAB 6.5 or greater under Windows 2000 or XP.

Unzip this archive into a directory named C:\SCMODEL.  Enter cd c:\scmodel and scmodel from the MATLAB command prompt.

MATPVCAM

139 kB

Routines for acquiring images from a PVCAM camera.  Current version tested using MATLAB 7.5 and PVCAM 2.7.6 and may work with other MATLAB and PVCAM versions.  Routines to control a Sutter Lambda 10-2 filter wheel via a RS232 serial port are included.

Unzip this archive into a directory named MATPVCAM.  This directory should then be added to the MATLAB path.  Enter ANATSEQ, FLUOSEQ or PMTMODE from the MATLAB command prompt.

AIF File Reader

103 kB

Software suite for reading and analyzing image data under MATLAB 6.5 or greater.  Capable of reading TIFF stacks and AIF image files created by Axon Imaging Workbench 2.2 or lower.  Provides filtering, background subtraction, image arithmetic and profile analysis.

Unzip this archive into a directory named AIFREAD.  This directory should then be added to the MATLAB path.  Enter AIFSTART from the MATLAB command prompt.  Requires the MATLAB Utilities package to run.

MATLAB Utilities

601 kB

Various GUI utilities and other functions for MATLAB 6.5 or greater.  Required for the AIF file reader routines.

Unzip this archive into a directory named UTILITIES.  All subdirectories should then be added to the MATLAB path.

MATDATAC

490 kB

Software suite originally developed by Paul Manis for acquiring electrophysiologic data using the MATLAB data acquisition toolbox to control an NI A-D board.  Current version tested using MATLAB 7.5 and NIDAQ 8.0 and may work with other MATLAB and NIDAQ versions that utilize NIDAQmx.

Unzip this archive into a directory named MAT_DATAC.  Operating instructions can be found in the file ACQ.PDF.  Note that various subdirectories must be added to the MATLAB path for correct operation.

VPascal Routines

32 kB

Code for Digital Optics V++ version 4.05 for high-speed imaging using a Quantix 57 or other PVCAM camera.

Unzip this archive.  Compile and Run the file STARTUP.V, which will create a toolbar for acquiring images.

Lambda 10-2 Control

9 kB

Code for Digital Optics V++ version 4.05 used to operate a Sutter Lambda 10-2 filter wheel via the serial port.

Compile and Run this VPascal file from V++.  An icon bar containing various filter wheel functions will appear.  Commands can be executed from other VPascal files via DDE; see code for details.
