The Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department offers:
- Masters degrees in Chemical Engineering and
- Doctoral degrees in Engineering.
Doctoral students can choose to work on a variety of research topics and must complete a dissertation on that topic.
Masters students may select either a research or coursework based curriculum.
Department research focuses on sustainbility issues related to the production of fuels and materials from renewable resources.
Current projects range from production of fuel from biomass to water purification to development of nano-materials.
Graduate Director Professor Isabel Escobar (isabel.escobar@utoledo.edu) advises all incoming students until they are assigned a permanent research advisor.
She also is a crucial resource for current students on administrative issues.
