Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of the Engineer’s Week Committee, the Toledo Society of
Professional Engineers (TSPE), the Technical Society of Toledo (TST)
and the University of Toledo College of Engineering, I cordially invite you
to join in the celebration of Engineers Week 2008. This year’s observance
begins on February 2nd with the annual MATHCOUNTS competition at the
University of Toledo College of Engineering and is followed by a full week of
activities commemorating National Engineers Week from February 17 - 23, 2008.
A majority of these events will take place at Gladieux Meadows
on Heatherdowns or The University of Toledo College of Engineering.
It is with extreme pleasure that we announce our keynote speaker for this year’s
Engineers Week Banquet is Loretta Swit, though I am sure that she is more
easily recognizable to you in her MASH persona as Major Margaret Houlihan.
The Toledo area Engineers Week has been consistently recognized by the
Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) for our outstanding observance
of Engineers Week. This is our 56th consecutive Engineers Week.
We thank the companies, organizations and individuals in our community for
making this observance a great success. Your commitment to the promotion of
engineering and your support will ensure another successful Engineers Week.
Lastly, I urge the local area engineering professional organizations to take
a moment to nominate a deserving colleague for the Young Engineer of the
Year and the Engineer of the Year awards given each year.
The committee this year is eagerly looking forward to meeting
Ms. Loretta Swit and seeing all of you at one or more activities
from February 2 – 23, 2008.
