Joel Ramirez-Salas is a Ph.D. Student in Manufacturing Engineering since August  1998 at The University of Toledo, MIME Department.   He obtained his Bachelors Degree in 1992 from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), México City, México with the thesis Design and Manufacturing of a Six-Degree-of-Freedom Robotics Manipulator.  He obtained his Masters Degree  in Manufacturing Engineering from The University of Toledo in June 1998.

He is the Scientific Secretary for the International Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology.

He worked as a Prototype Design Engineer at the Centro de Instrumentos UNAM from January 1994 to August 1995.

He worked as a Design Engineer in the Metrology Laboratory at Centro de Instrumentos UNAM from January 1993 to January 1994.

His selected list of published papers contains many titles.

In August 2000 he joined the PMMC working as a Research Associate.  He is involved in several projects studying Nano Polishing of Electronic Components.  He is also interested in studying ELID Polishing of Sapphire.
