On Wednesday, November 2, 2005 the College of Engineering
hosted a Diwali Celebration. Diwali is colloquially known as
the "festival of lights", for the common practice is to
light small oil lamps (called diyas) and place them
around the home, in courtyards, verandahs, and gardens, as
well as on roof-tops and outer walls. The event was open to all
students, faculty, staff, family and friends of the College
of Engineering. Those who attended enjoyed an evening of
dancing, music, movies, nice pizza, sparklers and other party favors.
