Electrical Engineering Technology Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) program to prepare graduates to enter career positions with electrical engineering technology manpower teams involved in the design, manufacture, sales and service of equipment and systems used in communications, instrumentation, computers, automation power and manufacturing; and to promote a commitment to lifelong learning and appropriate graduate education.

To achieve this mission the GOALS of the program are:

1. To provide students with electrical technical core knowledge to use as a building block to further his/her education in more specialized areas such as electronics, control systems, and manufacturing.

2. To provide students with basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, applications software and computer programming languages as used in support of the engineering enterprise.

3. To enhance the students' basic education in electrical engineering technology in the more specialized fields of electronic design, digital design, and machine and process control.

4. To augment the technical content of the students' EET course works with written and oral communication training, math skills in differential equations and statistics.

5. To provide students with opportunities for additional course work in areas beneficial to their career goals.

6. To fulfill the changing needs of local business and industry for qualified employees in the areas of technical sales, manufacturing, and engineering manpower teams.

7. To provide realism in training and education that emphasizes applications and current industry procedures.
