Graduate Admission Guidelines

In addition, admission to the Ph.D. program requires completion of a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related area, or a Bachelor's degree with a 3.3/4.0 GPA or better from an accredited engineering program. Applicants with Bachelor's degrees seeking direct admission to the doctoral program must have demonstrated high academic performance and an ability to pursue research during their undergraduate program.

Admission and financial support are separate matters. Graduate assistantships for International students are extremely limited. Students admitted to the EECS Graduate Program are automatically considered for financial support in the form of tuition scholarships/graduate assistantships. There is no need to apply separately.

Please visit the World Wide Web page here to apply online. In order for us to process your application for admission, please send the following materials TO THE GRADUATE SCHOOL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO:

  • Completed Application for Graduate Admission
  • Official transcripts of all previous studies
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose
  • $40 (US dollars) application fee payable to "The University of Toledo"
  • Original bank statement of financial support (in English)
  • GRE scores
  • TOEFL score

You should also visit the Graduate School web site for further information. Please note that the decision process for admissions and funding begins January 15. Your application should be complete by that date to receive the fullest consideration, especially for the financial support. Domestic students will be considered year-round.

We look forward to reviewing your application for admission and helping you reach your educational and career objectives.

Sincerely,
Graduate Committee
