Matlab License Information

The College of Enigineering at the University of Toledo has two Matlab licenses for use by faculty and students: a Classroom license and a Research License. Each license can support a given number of users at once, a number referred to as "seats." Each particular Matlab toolbox has seats as well, so while 100 people can use Matlab at once, they cannot all use the Control Tollbox as well.

Classroom License

The Classroom license is availabele in all ECC labs for the purpose of teaching and schoolwork. It is not available for use by students and professors for research activites. The table below shows all features of the license and the seats for each. This list is adjusted when the University evaluates the license and what toolboxes are used. If the toolbox you would like to use is not here, please contact ECC at license-manager@eng.utoledo.edu for information about purchasing the toolbox for your own use.

Research License

The Research license is provided to the small numbers of faculty and students using MATLAB for non-commercial research. The seats are provided only as a small pool of available seats should the researchers not have their own licenses. For any toolboxes not listed here, a license must be purchased from Mathworks. ECC is capable of facilitating and assisting faculty and students in purchasing a license, either at the main office in NI 1013 or through email at license-manager@eng.utoledo.edu.
