When I try to send an email in Eudora, why does it say connection refused?


Description When I try to send an email in Eudora in from an ECC computer, I get the following error:



 



Possible Explanation
There is a limit to the number of sendmail processes on the mail server that can be in use at a given time. When this limit is reached, no new mail is accepted for delivery. This results in the error shown above at the bottom of the Eudora program display. The exact wording of the error may vary, depending on the client email program used. (i.e. Outlook, Outlook Express, etc)

Possible Causes
There is a large number of students/faculty/staff sending email through their engineering accounts.

What to do:
Wait a little while and try resending the message. If the problem persists, contact the help desk in NI 1013.
