This section will guide you how to check your disk quota.

    Brief Procedure Overview
If you wish to check the status of your disk quota you must first log into the server from a Windows machine or log on to any UNIX machine. Once connected enter the command "quota -v"

    Step by Step Procedure
Explanatory comments are written in italics. In most cases, text in [brackets] represents input which varies with needs of the user, text in "quotes" represent menu items, icon choices or something needing to be typed exactly as shown and bold text represents the expected computer prompt or resultant response.

    1. Log into the server using the instructions in the How To Log Into Your Server Account page.
    1. At the command prompt (example green.eng.utoledo.edu% ) type "quota -v"

This should produce results similar to the following:

Disk quota for "username" (uid xxxx)
Filesystem usage quota limit files quota limit timeleft
    /export/home 300 1000000 1002000 400 10000 10200 1w

The time left 1w (1 Week) is the time you have to reduce your usage, after which the files will be automatically deleted, such that your diskusage is 1GB.
