    Problem
When you try to log on to the Solaris machines, the machines log you off immediately without giving any output.

    Solution

    1. Check your disk and file quota. You must not have exceeded 1.0GB of disk space used or 10,000 files. If you have exceeded your quota, reduce the size of files or number of files in your home directory (as appropriate).

    2. You can also try asking a consultant in NI1013. Note that most consultants are not prepared to debug initialization files.

    3. If you have not exceeded your disk or file quota, or reducing the size or number of files does not work, and the consultants are unable to resolve the problem, then log on to the main engineering server and run the following command. This will replace your initialization files with the system defaults. Any changes you made (such as a custom prompt or path) will have to be redone:
        /eng/local/bin/reinit.account
