William D. Marohn 1964 College of Engineering College Computing Laboratory In honor of Mr. William D. Marohn for his generous support of the College of Engineering at the University of Toledo as well as his recognized accomplishments as a respected corporate leader. Mr. Marohn graduated from UT in 1964 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Joining Whirlpool corporation in 1964 as an industrial engineer he held numerous leadership positions in manufacturing and engineering. Mr. Marohn’s natural leadership skills served him well as he worked his way through the corporate ranks and in 1992 was named President and Chief Operating Officer of the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances. He also served as chairman of the whirlpool Foundation and is on the board of directors for Rubbermaid, Inc. In 1997 Mr. Marohn received the UT Alumni Association’s Gold “T” award in recognition of his accomplishments as a corporate leader and his service to the community.
