Information about software installation on ECC Computers
Software Installation Procedure

All software that ECC has purchased is installed on every ECC computer subject to:
  • The relevant platform architecture.
  • The available disk space.
  • License restrictions.
  • Instructor request for the software in a specific lab, when there are not enough licenses to load the software in all labs.
  • Time to create, test and install images in a lab.
Installation of software on non-UT computers

Commercial software packages are sold at a fraction of their retail cost to educational institutions for instructional use only. Software use licenses (generally) explicitly disallow the use of the software for administration or consulting. Consequently, software MAY NOT be installed on non-UT computers, unless the software license explicitly permits such installation.
