Construction Engineering Technology

The construction industry provides more goods and services than any other industry in the United States and requires engineers who work in the office (design work), in the laboratory (testing), and on the construction site. Graduates of the B.S. in Engineering Technology degree program are prepared for careers as applications engineers in fields of construction, shelter, transportation infrastructure, and water and waste systems. In addition to providing students with a thorough knowledge of engineering, this program focuses on the managerial skills needed to ensure quality work in all phases of a construction project. Students of the B.S.E.T degree are eligible in most states to take the F.E. examination. The exam is the first step toward registration as a Professional Engineer.
Graduates of the Associate of Applied Science degree program are prepared to work as engineering technicians in support of engineers in the construction industry. Students transferring into this program from other colleges and universities with deficiencies will be required to complete course prerequisites before enrolling in required upper-division courses.
