Dr. Isabel Escobar, Associate Professor, UT College of Engineering Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering was one of seven area women selected as this years YWCA Milestones: A Tribute to Women honoree.

Thursday, January 22, 2009 -- At the YWCA of Greater Toledo, CEO Lisa McDuffie, announced the 2009 Honorees for the YWCA Milestones: A Tribute to Women annual award. This year's honorees are: Ann Anderson Stranahan - Arts, Paula H. Fall - Business, Isabel Escobar, Ph.D. - Education, Marge Brown - Government, Judy Seibenick, RN BSN CHPCA - Sciences, Betty Amison - Social Services, and Ann Sanford - Volunteerism. This is the 14th year the YWCA of Greater Toledo has recognized women of Northwest Ohio who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and who have opened doors for other women to achieve milestones of their own.

An independent panel of community leaders was used to select these seven women.
