Sustainability Engineering Students First to Estimate UT's Carbon Footprint
University of Toledo's first greenhouse gas inventory was conducted by Dr.
Defne Apul's Sustainability Engineering Class students. This first estimate
showed that UT's current annual carbon footprint is approximately 82,300
metric tons of CO2. Students presented the results to UT president Dr.
Jacobs and his senior leadership team on April 28, 2010. Photo shows Dean
Nagi Naganathan, Civil Engineering Department Chair Dr. Ashok Kumar, Civil
Engineering assistant professor Dr. Apul and her students posing for a photo
after the presentation.
