College of Engineering's graduate student, Arjun Akkala recently won the 3rd place in the Air & Waste Management Association's (A&WMA's) Student Poster Competition for his poster titled "Artificial Neural Network Based Modeling and Prediction of Radon Concentrations". This award includes a certificate and a cash prize. The competition is part of the A&WMA Annual Conference 2009. The basis for the award is technical quality and significance to environment. Arjun is working with Dr. Vijay Devabhaktuni (EECS Department) and Dr. Ashok Kumar (Civil Eng. Department).
