College of Engineering Scholarships (Only for UT engineering students)

- Students awarded a University merit scholarship will automatically receive no less than the higher of the two scholarships. Please visit www.co-op.edu for more information.
- An attache case and Toledo Section AIChE certificate is given to an outstanding senior in Chemical Engineering.
- Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook and a Toledo Section AIChE certificate are given to an outstanding Junior in Chemical Engineering.
- Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook and a Toledo Section AIChE certificate are given to an outstanding Sophomore in Chemical Engineering.
- Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook and a Toledo Section AIChE certificate are given to an outstanding Freshmen in Chemical Engineering.
- An annual award to a Civil Engineering student based on membership and activity in the student chapter of ASCE, financial need, and scholarship.
- Awarded to a junior or senior majoring in Transportation Engineering. Based on both need and merit.
- Certificate recognizing outstanding contributions and service to ASME.
- Awarded to Computer Sciences and Engineering students who demonstrate interest, potential and financial need.
- Awarded to a junior or senior Chemical Engineering student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement.
- Awarded to an outstanding student in Civil Engineering.
- Awarded to an outstanding student who aspires to a career in the construction industry.
- Awarded to a junior or senior Chemical Engineering Student with academic achievements, campus and community involvement, and financial need.
- Awarded to Chemical Engineering students with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Awarded to Engineering students beyond the rank of freshman who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need, given in memory of Dr.
Brandeberry, former Dean of the College of Engineering.
- Awarded to full-time Engineering students based on financial need and academic achievement.
- Awarded to disadvantaged minority students who are incoming freshmen, qualified transfers or graduates from an accredited two-year associate of
applied science degree program in engineering technology who are admitted to a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology degree
program. Recipients must be in the Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Construction Engineering discipline.
- Awarded to an outstanding Civil Engineering senior that has demonstrated leadership skills.
- Awarded to an outstanding Electrical Engineering Technology student.
- Awarded to a student in a course of study related to the construction industry based on financial need.
- Awarded to a junior or senior in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or Electrical Engineering with a 2.5 or greater GPA. Eligible students are required
to submit a cover letter, resume and two letters of recommendation.
- Awarded to engineering, chemistry and physics students based on an essay of glass technology.
- Awarded to Electrical or Mechanical Engineering students based equally on need and merit.
- Awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievement in Mechanical Engineering.
- Awarded to a Mechanical Engineering Student beyond the rank of freshman based on academic achievement and financial need.
- Awarded to Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Technology students who are Ohio high school
graduates and demonstrate academic achievement.
- Awarded to an entering freshman with high school academic honors.
- Awarded to an outstanding junior in Computer Science and Engineering.
- Awarded to an outstanding Mechanical Engineering student with high academic achievement.
- Awarded to an outstanding student in Civil Engineering.
- Awarded to an a junior in engineering, from the Toledo area working part-time to pay for school, given in memory of Edward Garrison, former
dean in the College of Engineering.
- Awarded to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering students who have graduated from a Northwest Ohio or a Southeast Michigan high school and
demonstrate financial need.
- Awarded to the most outstanding Industrial Engineering student based on academic achievements, active participation in the university chapter
activities of IIE, strong leadership potential, and personal character.
- Awarded to engineering students, with equal consideration given for financial need and academic merit.
- Awarded to engineering students from the Sylvania school system.
- Awarded to engineering students from Ohio who participated in varsity sports while in high school and graduated with a grade point avaerage
of 3.25 or greater. Applicants must also have demonstrated community service and/or have held a student government position in high school.
- Awarded to students based on need and academic achievement pursuing an engineering degree.
- Awarded to a UT college of engineering student based on financial need and merit.
- Awarded to a junior or senior in Civil Engineering based on academic achievement and financial need.
- Awarded to an outstanding Industrial Engineering student based on academic achievements, extracurricular activities, active participation in student
chapter activities of IIE, leadership potential, and personal character.
- Awarded to recognize students who meet and maintain the academic standards of the college and demonstrate some financial need.
- Awarded to outstanding minority students in Civil Engineering with financial need and high academic promise.
- Awarded to a Civil Engineering student in recognition for outstanding leadership and academic achievement.
- A cash award and plaque is awarded to a Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering students to recognize outstanding leadership and scholarship.
- Awarded to a female or minority student pursuing a degree in either Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- A cash award to electrical engineering students. Students must have a 2.5 grade point avaerage with financial need.
- Awarded to a junior or senior studying Chemical Engineering.
- Awarded to entering freshmen who have graduated from one of six elementary schools under the Central City Ministries services Umbrella with
priority to Hispanic applicants. Students must also have graduated high school with a 3.5 grade point average or greater.
- Awarded to Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering students beyond the rank of freshmen based on academic achievement and financial need.
- Awarded to female Electrical Engineering students who have high academic achievement.
- Awarded to an outstanding sophomore in the construction trades.
- Awarded to an outstanding student enrolled in courses related to the construction industry.
- An annual award presented to a student in Civil Engineering on the basis of scholarship, need and interest in the field.
- Awarded to an entering freshmen of continuing Industrial Engineering student with a high school grade point average of 3.5 or above,
who demonstrate financial need.
- Awarded to a Civil Engineering student who shows interest in the field of construction.
- The winner of this state-wide competition must be an outstanding engineering student that demonstrates high academic achievement and leadership qualities.
- Sponsered by NASA, through its National SPace Grant College and Fellowship Program, this graduate fellowship is awarded to a student continuing
their studies in a doctoral degree program.
- A certificate of recognition and plaque are awarded for outstanding academic work in Industrial Engineering.
- A certificate of recognition and plaque are awarded for outstanding academic work in Mechanical Engineering.
- Awarded for students beyond the rank of freshman who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need, given in memory of Delos M. Palmer,

- Awarded to an entering Bioengineering student that has teh highest high school grade point avaerage and a minimum score of 28 on their ACT.
- Awarded to engineering students above the rank of freshmen based on academic achievement.
- Awarded to entering freshmen who are graduates of Woodward High School, show academic achievement, and demonstrate financial need.
- Awarded to a Civil Engineering student demonstrating high academic achievement, and who graduated from a Northwest Ohio or Southeast Michigan high school.
- Awarded to junior or senior engineering students for academic achievement.
- Awarded yearly to a co-op/intern student of The University of Toledo College of Engineering.
- Awarded to entering freshmen with a high school GPA of at least 3.5 and intent to major in Engineering. Priority shall be given to minority and
female graduates of Greater Toledo Area schools and dependants of colleagues employed by SSOE, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
- Awarded to junior engineering students with the highest cumulative grade point average.
- A cash award and a plaque is awarded to a Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering student to recognize outstanding leadership and scholarship.
- Awarded to full-time engineering students in good standing. Based on financial need.
- Awarded to an entering freshman in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering who graduated with high school academic honors.
- Awarded to an outstanding student in the field of manufacturing.
- Awarded to a student in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
- This scholarship provides all instructional fees for an engineering student with high academic achievement.
- Awarded in recognition for outstanding academic performance in math, chemistry, or technology.
- Awarded to an outstanding Civil Engineering student that demonstrates high academic achievement and leadership skills.
- Awarded to an outstanding student in Electrical or related field.
- Awarded to an outstanding College of Engineering entering freshman from Toledo Area.
- Awarded to an outstanding Industrial Engineering student that demonstrates high academic achievement and leadership skills.
- A cash award awarded to juniors and seniors majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Recipients must have a 3.0 or above and a sincere commitment to
the field of mechanical engineering. Recipient must have an outstanding work ethic, high standards of personal character and integrity and be U.S.
citizens. This scholarship is in memory of Mr. Van Dusen and in honor of Seth A. Metzger, gradnson of Mr. Van Dusen.

College Awards
Each year a number of awards recognizing outstanding scholarship and leadership are presented to engineering students at the Engineering College Convocation.
Each winner receives a certificate along with a monetary award. The awards are as follows:
- Awarded to a College of Engineering graduating senior in recognition of high scholarship and valedictorian honors.
- Awarded to a College of Engineering graduating senior in recognition of service and leadership in a college student organization.
- Awarded to an outstanding College of Engineering senior in recognition of service, leadership, and involvement in campus and community
activities and organizations.
- Awarded to a College of Engineering graduating senior in recognition of service, leadership, and involvement in campus and community
activities and organizations.
- Awarded to a College of Engineering student in recognition of the best suggestion able to be implemented for the improvement of the College.
